Witches, Wizards, Warlocks & Sorceresses ▌Physical Appearance Witches, Wizards, Warlocks and Sorceresses are an amalgamation of other species. The reason why they are their own sub-species is because these creatures have used magic so often and for such prolonged time without dying that it's altered their very being. They attend 'Witches Night' a festival held on both sides during the midsummer months. They give thanks to their magical powers and their longevity, they also celebrate the turn of 'death and renewal'. However, the celebrations for both sides are different. Witches & Wizards: • The festivities start with an opening word from the high priest and priestess of the Witch & Wizard community, this usually includes words of thanks to the elements and to 'fate' for allowing them their power and continued life within the universe. • Music played by bards or by witches and wizards, there's also dancing, attendees to the dance are adorned with flower crowns. Giving thanks to faeries, nymphs, djinn and other elemental creatures who are friendly towards the community. • Sacrifice of a Goose, Swan, Doe Deer, Sheep or Lamb for Witches. Must be butchered in a quick humane way while ritual rites are spoken. • Sacrifice of a Duck, Turkey, Stag Deer, Ram or Goat for Wizards. Must be butchered in a quick humane way while ritual rites are spoken. • The Sacrifices are then cooked and eaten by everyone as dinner, the deaths of the animals are to symbolise the dying of the world, the eating of the creatures is to symbolise the circle of life and the renewal of energies. Something dies so that another thing may yet live. Plants and trees die so they can be reborn the next year. • Free time, spent usually drinking alcohol, getting to know one another, welcoming new additions to the Witch and Wizard community with a toast and generally just having a giant party until dawn of the next day. Sorceresses & Warlocks: • The festivities start with an opening word from the high priest and priestess of the Sorceress & Warlock community, this usually includes words of thanks to the elements and to 'fate' for allowing them their power and continued life within the universe. It also however includes hate speech towards those that would oppose the power that Sorceresses and Warlocks have and support for those who show their enemies no mercy. • Music played by bards or by witches and wizards, there's also dancing around a bonfire nude. • Sacrifice of a young woman or sacred female animal, usually either having just given birth or being of fertile maturity while ritual rites are spoken as the heart is cut from the live sacrifice. • Sacrifice of a young man or sacred male animal, usually either having just given birth or being of fertile maturity while ritual rites are spoken as the heart is cut from the live sacrifice. • The Sacrifices are then tossed upon the bonfire being burned until they're nothing but ashes. Those ashes are then spread across the ground to renew the fertile energies within. • Activities with other members of the community, which newcomers to the Sorceress and Warlock community are HIGHLY encouraged to engage in. To the point that the high priest or priestess may get those newcomers drunk and disorderly to make them less able to resist, charms may even be put in to effec to make sure it happens. Members whom do not engage before their sixteenth will be encouraged to engage upon their birthday if they wish to join this community. They believe that such purity hinders the flow of magic. • Singing, dancing, and merry making (which includes wearing animal heads) until dawn. |
